🧠 September 2025 - Invited talk in Computational Neuroscience Next Generation Symposium
I had the honor of being invited as one of nine speakers at the 2025 Computational Neuroscience Next Generation (CNNG) Symposium at Washington University in St. Louis. The event, hosted by Center for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience (CTCN) at WashU in St. Louis, provided an excellent opportunity to share my work, exchange ideas with distinguished researchers, and meet inspiring new colleagues.
💻 August 2025 - High-Performance EIF Neural Network Simulation
I Built a GitHub repository of optimized C implementations for simulating large-scale EIF neural networks across different connectivity patterns and input types, leveraging advanced numerical computing and memory-efficient techniques for real-time neural dynamics.

I shared my research at Carnegie Mellon’s Computational Neuroscience Day, hosted in collaboration with the Center for Neural Basis of Cognition.

I'm excited to work with talented and passionate high school students at the Talaria Summer Institute, exploring the frontiers of neuroscience and AI.
🏃 May 2025 - Pittsburgh Half Marathon!
I completed my first half marathon in 2:20:49 at the 2025 Pittsburgh Marathon on May 4. It brought back memories of running 5.4 km on May 4 during my undergraduate years to celebrate Peking University's anniversary.

My first manuscript with my advisor, Prof. Chengcheng Huang, on Neuronal heterogeneity of normalization strength in a circuit model, is now on bioRxiv.

My rotation project with Prof. Bard Ermentrout on Mean-field analysis of synaptic alterations underlying deficient cortical gamma oscillations in schizophrenia was published in Journal of Computational Neuroscience.

I was a panelist in the "Applying to Grad School & Finding a Research Direction" panel, which is part of the OurCS Workshop 2024 held by School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.

I presented recent work on Neuronal heterogeneity of normalization in a circuit model in NAISys 2024 (From neuroscience to artificial intelligent systems) at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

I created a PyTorch tutorial on How task specification affects generalization in machine learning as part of the Neuromatch Academy 2024 NeuroAI course.
⚖️ February 2024 – Served as judge in PJAS
I served as a judge in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Regional Competition 2024. Mellon College of Science at Carnegie Mellon University reported on this.

I gave two lectures, one on Neuroplasticity and the other on Frontiers of Neuroscience in International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA) Summer Program 2023.
